Freedom = Simple Answers + Courage

We're all prone to look for easy answers. (Witness the billions spent on get-rich-quick and weight-loss schemes.)

These are difficult days for many of us, if not personally then in our communities and nations. There are complex and complicated problems, and the easy answers tend to make things worse over a period of time than better. One wonders at times if solutions are going to be like solving Rubik's cube -- it's going to look worse than at the start, but eventually comes out right.

Intuition tends to lead us astray. Wise husbands and fathers and leaders look to revelation and proven wisdom.

I invite you to consider these quotes:

“There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to what is morally right.” -- Ronald Reagan

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." – John 8:31-32
(Please note the context of this oft-misused verse!)

"I wouldn't give a fig for simplicity on the near side of complexity, but would give my right arm for simplicity on the far side of complexity." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., (The US Supreme Court justice, not his father the author)

Freedom = Simple Answers + Courage + willingness to go through complexity to reach simplicity.

After having read the Bible on a daily basis for over some thirty years. Here is a little of what has been revealed to me.

Everyone may know - boldly, simply and absolutely!

If I would ask you: "Is there a way to the sun without going through its light?" - How would you respond?

The answer is so obvious that a response would most likely be an incredulous frown.

Light is symbollic of knowledge. We refer to the dark ages because knowledge was lacking - or we want someone to throw light on a subject we are not familiar with.

In view of this, consider the sun - it's total light! representing 'total knowledge'. Only God has total knowledge.

God uses signs and symbols - as do we - in order to communicate to all regardless of language. Consider the following facts.

Consider - what would planet earth look like without the sun:
There would be no grass, no plants, no trees, no birds, no animals, no people, in short no flora or fauna nor the things that people produce like tools, roads, buildings, furnishings, cars, radios, televions, phones etc. etc.

Thus without the sun - nothing!!! - With the sun everything is possible!!! The sun is therefore incomprehensible in its working - just like God.

To be more precise, it is sunlight and heat that make everything possible as they are here on earth while the sun is some 95 million miles away.

Sunlight is the sun's 'offspring'.

The Bible is the only book that identifies with this truth.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for 'signs', and for seasons, and for days, and years; Genesis 1:14

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are 'not yet done', ... Isaiah 46:9-10

About 700 years after that prophetic word a man walked the earth by the name of Jesus Christ. He said that he is the Son of God (offspring of God) and is the light of the world and no one comes to God without going through Him!

Then spake Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: John 8:12

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:3

(Remember the question posed at the onset?)

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. John 14:6

No man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him. John 1:18

(The sun is hidden behind its light)

I and my Father are one. John 10:30

God the Father - Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit are three in ONE just like the sun consists of sun - sunlight and heat yet we have only one sun. One sun - One God.
